Japanese Dermatological Association Award Selection Committee makes the selection, and the final decision is made by the Board of Directors.

Application conditions

1. Must be a dermatologist.
2. ​Applicants must be 55 years of age or younger as of the final day of the application period.
3. The research topic must be in the field of dermatology, and must be novel and groundbreaking basic research (themes for which applications for Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology research grants are also acceptable).
4. For personal research only, the research must be conducted exclusively within Japan. However, collaborators within the same institution are permitted.
5. The research period will be two years, and there will be no plans to study abroad within two years of receiving the research grant.
6. You must not have previously received funding from the Rohto Dermatological Research Fund (sponsored by ROHTO Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.) or this research fund.
7. Research grants received through this research fund will not be used for research conducted with ROHTO Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.

* Starting with the 2025 recruitment, applicants must be 55 years of age or younger, and applications for professorships are now also accepted.
