Longevity from the body

"Invisible fat" reveals the whole body.
A new perspective: "ectopic fat."

The Rohto Pharmaceutical Group has been conducting research on lipid metabolism for over 30 years.
It starts with examining lipids in the blood, and then moves on to the liver and ovaries.
After many years of research, it has become clear thatfat can accumulate in organs where it shouldn't,affecting the function of those organs and causing cellular aging.
It's called "ectopic fat." Also known as the "third type of fat,"it's an "invisible fat" that's difficult to detect based solely on appearance or weight.

Longevity from the body

We re-examine the body, which we previously viewed in terms of individual parts such as the eyes, skin, liver, and heart, as a single interconnected whole.
Ectopic fat became a common keyword for this purpose.
My in-depth research into lipids led me to discover problems affecting the entire body.

Lipids are, in essence, the driving force of life and the source of action.
What we're re-examining beyond lipid research is the very "movement" necessary for life.
You can walk. You can eat. You can taste delicious food. You can go and see the people you want to see.
What I want to increase is not the length of my lifespan, but the number of things I "can do" and the time I spend doing them.
To address this, Rohto is tackling a new challenge: ectopic fat.
We will use this research to contribute to longevity for all people.
