Further accelerating our health initiatives, which form the foundation of well-being, we
have been certified as a "Certified Health & Productivity Management Outstanding Organization 2024 (White 500)".
March 12, 2024
ROHTO Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Osaka City, President: Masafumi Sugimoto) has been undertaking various initiatives since its founding based on the idea that in order to provide the value of health to society, we must first expand the circle of health starting with our employees and their families. We are pleased to announce that on March 11, 2024 (Monday), we were certified as a "Certified Health & Productivity Management Outstanding Organization 2024 (Large Corporation Category (White 500))."
Our commitment to employee health, a value we've cherished since our founding.
Since our founding, we have delivered products and services related to beauty and health to people around the world. Currently, under ROHTO Group Comprehensive Management Vision 2030, "Connect for Well-being," we are expanding our business into the fields of food and Regenerative medicine. As a company that has long been engaged in "health," we have always strived to ensure that each and every employee who supports our foundation is healthy in both mind and body and can approach their daily work with passion (job satisfaction and purpose in life). In recent years, in 2014 we appointed Japan's first "Chief health and productivity management Officer (CHO)" *, and in 2016 we established Health Management Promotion Group within the Human Resources and General Affairs Department. Since then, while promoting various initiatives, in 2018 we formulated our company's philosophy of health and productivity management as the "Health and Productivity Management Declaration." Currently, we believe that physical and mental health is the foundation of well-being, and we are focusing on "creating opportunities" for employees to maintain their own health.

Topics (examples)
At our company, we aim to empower our employees to take initiative in managing their own health. We create opportunities for them to learn about their own health and physical condition, and to put healthy practices into action and make them a habit. While our focus is on health, it also plays a role in promoting connections and communication among employees, contributing to improved quality and speed of work.
Sleep Improvement Program
An internal survey revealed an increase in the number of people sleeping less than 6.5 hours, as well as a declining trend in sleep satisfaction. Therefore, we implemented a "sleep improvement program" aimed at ensuring sufficient sleep, which is the foundation of good health, and improving sleep satisfaction.
First, we conducted a sleep check (for all employees) to help them understand their own sleep patterns. Among those employees who responded that they "felt they had issues," we used wearable devices to help them understand their sleep patterns and take action to improve them.
"Metabolic Syndrome Escape Challenge" for those with metabolic syndrome or at risk.
It is well known that neglecting metabolic syndrome or pre-metabolic syndrome carries a high risk of developing lifestyle-related diseases. To ensure that all employees can continue to work in good health, we implemented an improvement program for target employees with the aim of helping as many employees as possible escape metabolic syndrome or pre-metabolic syndrome and ultimately achieve a state where they can continuously manage their own health. Over a period of three months, participants gradually implemented lifestyle changes such as exercise and diet.
About the Certified Certified Health & Productivity Management Outstanding Organization System
The Certified Certified Health & Productivity Management Outstanding Organization System is a system that recognizes corporations, including large and small businesses, that are particularly outstanding in practicing health and productivity management, based on initiatives tailored to local health challenges and health promotion initiatives promoted by the Japan Health Conference. By making outstanding corporations that are committed to health and productivity management "visible," the system aims to create an environment in which they can be socially recognized by employees, job seekers, related companies, and financial institutions as "corporations that consider employee health management from a management perspective and are strategically addressing it."
