ROHTO Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Osaka City, President: Masafumi Sugimoto) will launch a new dog supplement, "ROHTO V5 Wan," as part of its "ROHTO V5" series of eye supplements that support vision. In addition to the antioxidants lutein, zeaxanthin, and vitamin E that have been included in the "ROHTO V5" brand, this supplement now contains astaxanthin and was developed with a focus on the eyes and overall health of senior dogs. It will be available for purchase from Rohto's online store starting May 1, 2024 (Wednesday).
Product launch background
For over 110 years, our company has addressed the changing eye concerns of our customers through eye care solutions, primarily eye drops, in the over-the-counter (OTC) pharmaceutical market. In 2015, as a new offering for those experiencing eye problems with age, we launched "ROHTO V5," an eye supplement containing ingredients that support clear vision *1, which has been well-received by many customers *2.
While listening to feedback from our customers who use ROHTO V5 every day, we have received many inquiries from people who want to give ROHTO V5 to their dogs, and we have come to understand that there are people who are concerned about their dogs' eyes. Until now, we have contributed to the well-being of humans, but we believe that the well-being of animals, who are our life companions (family and partners), is not limited to the animals themselves, but is also connected to the well-being of humans. Based on this idea, we have decided to launch "Rohto V5 Wan," a supplement that combines antioxidants such as lutein, astaxanthin, zeaxanthin, and vitamin E, to provide total support for maintaining the health of dogs' eyes, as well as joints, brain and nerves, skin ROHTO V5 coat, and intestines, which are all concerns that arise with age.
