ROHTO Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Osaka City, President: Masafumi Sugimoto) has been promoting Regenerative medicine as a new treatment option for patients who are suffering from a lack of appropriate treatment. We are pleased to announce that our AOF culture medium *1 "R:STEM *2" has received the FIRM mark certification, the first of its kind in Japan, under the certification system for products and services in the Regenerative medicine Regenerative medicine-related industries established by the Regenerative Medicine Innovation Forum (FIRM). A certification ceremony was held on May 17, 2024.

What is Rohto Pharmaceutical's original culture medium "R:STEM *2"?
In the course of promoting Regenerative medicine research, we developed our original AOF medium *1 "R:STEM *2" used for cell culture. R:STEM *2 is a serum-free medium that prioritizes patient safety, and we have confirmed that it does not contain any animal or human-derived components, tracing back to the secondary raw materials. We have been selling it to medical institutions and companies since 2020.
What is FIRM mark certification?
FIRM has established a certification system for products and services in Regenerative medicine-related industries. In other words, "FIRM, as a third party, or certification body, certifies that products and services in Regenerative medicine related industries meet standard requirements, and permits companies with certified products and services to use the FIRM mark."
