Rohto Children's Dream Fund Selects Six Organizations for its First Grant Program

Rohto Children's Dream Fund: First Round of Grant Recipients (in alphabetical order)

• Beyond Tomorrow, a general incorporated foundation supporting global education (Tokyo / Representative Director: Daijiro Hashimoto)
• Kirin Children's Support Group, a specified non-profit organization (Osaka Prefecture / Representative Director: Hirotaka Mizutori)
• Healthy Parent and Child Support Association (Tokyo / Chairperson: Aki Kawamura)
• Certified NPO 3keys (Tokyo / Representative Director: Yoshie Moriyama)
• Minna no Code, a specified non-profit organization (Kanagawa Prefecture / Representative Director: Yuta Tonegawa)

In the first public call for grant recipients since the foundation's establishment, we sought organizations from across the country that are addressing and working to resolve the increasingly diverse and serious social issues surrounding children.
In selecting grant recipients, we prioritized whether the project "supports children's dreams and opens up new paths," ensuring that the environmental factors in which children find themselves do not limit their dreams or future options. We made our selections based on four criteria: ① analysis of current challenges, ② feasibility and sustainability of goals, ③ unique appeal of the project, and ④ appropriateness of budget design.

• Daigo Sato (Professor, Faculty of Entrepreneurship, Musashino University)

  As the name "Rohto Children's Dream Fund" suggests, we received numerous applications from organizations that support the realities of children and encourage their dreams. We resonated with all of their activities, making the selection process extremely difficult.
  We hope that this grant program will help expand the projects of the organizations selected this time, bringing smiles to as many children as possible.

  First of all, congratulations, gratitude, and hopes for the creation of such a wonderful support system!
  This time, we aimed to shine a light on as many diverse individuals as possible, and to create significant new systems, spaces, and opportunities. We hope that this will serve as a catalyst for society as a whole to move from various perspectives toward building a society and culture where creativity is democratized and "no one is left behind." Regardless of whether you pass or fail this time, let's continue to bring to life various socially valuable projects, join hands, and work together to create an even better society and culture.

  The activities of each organization were wonderful, and as I reviewed the materials and listened to the presentations, I was once again struck by the reality that children are surrounded by such diverse difficulties. At the same time, I was greatly encouraged to know that there are adults who are seriously engaging with children on the ground. I look forward to your continued success.
  Furthermore, we express our deepest gratitude to Rohto Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. for launching this grant program together with Peace Winds Japan, and for opening up new possibilities for how businesses can contribute to society.

  In this selection process, we focused on finding a business model that would reliably and consistently fulfill children's dreams from various perspectives. We also tried to evaluate the potential for that model to evolve into the future.
  All 15 organizations that made it to the final selection were exemplary in their commitment to supporting children's dreams, but we ultimately selected six based on the criteria mentioned above. We are deeply grateful for the many applications we received. We sincerely hope that this fund will help realize the dreams of as many children as possible.
