Rohto Children's Dream Fund begins accepting applications for its second grant program

Background and Objectives.

The social challenges surrounding children are becoming increasingly diverse and serious, including poverty, educational disparities, abuse, bullying, and isolation. The first "Rohto Children's Dream Fund" received 78 applications from across the country, and six projects were selected. Currently, each organization is working to support the dreams of children facing difficulties.
In this second round of applications, we have set up two application categories with different grant amounts, further expanding our circle of support in our aim to create a society where children can pursue their dreams. We look forward to receiving applications from everyone working to ensure that children's dreams and future options are not limited.

Application quota and grant amount

There are two application slots, and the grant amount varies depending on the slot. There are no particular differences other than the grant amount, so please choose one of the following slots based on your business plan and apply.

• General category: 1 million to 3 million yen
• Expanded limit: 3 million to 8 million yen

*Applications that exceed the budget size of the applying organization for the previous year will not be accepted. Each organization is limited to one application.

Grant period

April 1, 2025 to March 31, 2026 (12 months)

• Organization overview and staff introduction (no form)
• Articles of incorporation
• Please submit the organization's business plan, budget plan, business report, and financial statements (please submit the most recent versions available).

Projects eligible for grants

Activities of an organization that supports children facing difficulties due to economic circumstances, environmental factors, or other reasons, helping them to pursue their dreams (up to high school age / activities within Japan).

Eligibility

• The organization must be a non-profit organization with a track record of supporting children for at least three years.
• The purpose and activities are not biased towards any particular political or religious cause.
• No involvement whatsoever with anti-social forces.

Eligible expense items for subsidies

• This includes not only the costs directly incurred in carrying out the project (direct project costs), but also necessary personnel costs, transportation costs, and the purchase of stationery and other consumables (indirect project costs).
• General administrative expenses for running and managing the organization (such as rent for the organization's office and executive compensation) that are not directly related to this project will be limited to 10% of direct project costs.

Selection Criteria

The evaluation will be based mainly on the following points:

1. This project aims to support children in pursuing their dreams, ensuring that their dreams and future options are not limited by the environmental factors they find themselves in.
2. The current challenges and their contributing factors are thoroughly analyzed.
3. The goals must be achievable, and the business activities must be effective in solving the problems.
   Furthermore, the project must be sustainable after its completion.
4. The business must demonstrate its unique appeal (selling points, novelty, and social impact).
5. The budget is designed efficiently and appropriately.

  Project Name: Creating a learning support platform for child support organizations nationwide using a learning management system
• Minna no Code, a specified non-profit organization (Kanagawa Prefecture / Representative Director: Yuta Tonegawa)
  Project Name: Create Your Own Career Through Authentic Creative Activities with Professionals! ~A project in Kaga City, Ishikawa Prefecture, supporting the career development of children facing difficulties through the creation of creative activity portfolios~
