Award-winning initiatives
While each company has traditionally strived for efficient transportation, we explored a transportation method that leverages the commonality of delivery routes to connect manufacturing sites and warehouses in a relay system, aiming for even greater efficiency. To overcome various constraints imposed by each company, such as pallet size, transport volume, and product safety, we conducted product selection, loading technology verification, and quality testing suitable for joint transportation. We built a system that maximizes loading efficiency and enables operation without overload even during long-distance transport, including driver switches. Maximizing transportation efficiency through this initiative will contribute to a sustainable supply chain by reducing environmental impact and reforming drivers' working conditions.
Regarding the Award for Excellent Logistics Partnerships
The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism recognize businesses that have made particularly outstanding contributions to the "construction of a sustainable logistics system" through efforts to reduce the environmental impact in the logistics sector, as well as to improve the productivity of logistics and implement structural reforms.
About the Green Logistics Partnership Conference
The Green Logistics Partnership Conference was established with the cooperation of the Japan Logistics Systems Association, the Japan Federation of Logistics Organizations, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, and the Japan Business Federation (as an observer). The conference operates with a strong sense of purpose to promote broad cooperation between shippers (shippers and consignees) and logistics operators, transcending industry and business boundaries, in order to expand voluntary efforts to reduce CO2 emissions in the logistics sector. Since fiscal year 2006, the conference has been awarding outstanding logistics partnership business operators with particularly remarkable achievements.
