Kyoto Prefecture's Kizugawa City and Rohto Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.
have concluded an agreement regarding the provision of temporary evacuation shelters during disasters.

ROHTO Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture; President: Hidetoshi Segi) concluded an agreement with Kizugawa City, Kyoto Prefecture (Mayor: Yuichi Taniguchi) on March 23, 2026, regarding the provision of temporary shelters for overnight stays in vehicles during disasters. In the event of a disaster occurring or being likely to occur in Kizugawa City, Rohto will cooperate by providing a portion of the facilities of Rohto Research Village Kyoto. Through this cooperation agreement, Rohto will contribute to disaster countermeasures in the region.
Background of the initiative
In 2006, our company established "Rohto Research Village Kyoto" in Kizugawa City as a core research and development base. In 2024, we signed a "Industry-Government-Academia Collaboration Agreement for Promoting Regional Revitalization" with Kizugawa City and the Graduate School of Project Design, an educational institution under the Advanced Education Organization, and launched a project to utilize Kizugawa City's local resources. In addition to our previous efforts in regional revitalization and creating a well-being-oriented community, we will also contribute to regional disaster countermeasures through the signing of a disaster response cooperation agreement.
Initiatives
In the event of a disaster in Kizugawa City, we have entered into a disaster relief agreement to provide facilities at the city's request, and will provide parking spaces at the following facilities for the purpose of accommodating people who are sheltering in their vehicles.

Regarding the agreement
The purpose of this initiative is to ensure the safety of local residents by having ROHTO Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. Rohto Research Village Kyoto cooperate with Kizugawa City in disaster response measures during times of disaster.
- In the event of a disaster, Kizugawa City may request ROHTO Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., Ltd. to provide its facilities.
- ROHTO Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., upon receiving a request from Kizugawa City and determining that it is possible to accommodate evacuees staying in their vehicles, will provide all or part of its parking facilities as a place to accommodate these evacuees.
- This agreement shall be in effect for one year from April 1, 2026. However, it may be extended or shortened upon consultation.
