ROHTO Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Osaka City, President: Hidetoshi Segi) is pleased to announce its participation in the "ASAGI Labs Longevity Consortium," established by the General Incorporated Foundation ASAGI Labs (Representative Director: Motoshi Hayano) and scheduled to begin full-scale operations on June 1, 2026.
Background of participation
The "ASAGI Labs Longevity Consortium" is a co-creation platform that brings together diverse stakeholders, including academia, corporations, local governments, hospitals and clinics, and non-profit organizations, to promote research and development, business creation, and social implementation related to longevity. Focusing on extending healthy life expectancy, sustainable social participation, life planning based on individual narratives, and responding to multi-stage lives, it aims to create longevity solutions originating in Japan.
Since our founding, we have been involved in a diverse range of fields related to the human body and daily life, including eye drops, gastrointestinal medicines, skincare, food, and Regenerative medicine, and have sincerely addressed the issue of "people living long and healthy lives." Our concept of longevity is to maximize health through science and make life long and enjoyable. The starting point for this is understanding the mechanisms of the human body itself. We view the body as a multi-layered structure of cells, tissues, and organs, and have honed our foundational technologies, primarily through cell research, for many years. Based on this research foundation, we aim to approach longevity from a scientific perspective and implement its value in a way that reaches consumers.
Through this participation, we will leverage the consumer engagement we have cultivated in eye care, skin care, oral medications, food, and Regenerative medicine to explore challenges related to longevity, conduct joint research, and carry out demonstration activities. Furthermore, beyond research and development, we will challenge ourselves to create new value toward the social implementation of longevity through co-creation with diverse partners such as academia, companies, local governments, and medical institutions.
Under the motto "Connect for Well-being & Longevity," our company aims to contribute to the realization of a society where people can live healthier and more positive lives by seamlessly connecting research with practical application in daily life.

The "ASAGI Labs Longevity Consortium" is a collaborative platform for industry-government-academia partnerships in the field of longevity, established by the ASAGI Labs Foundation. Against the backdrop of advances in aging research, the integration of multimodal information by AI, and the multi-stage nature of life, it aims to achieve both life planning based on individual narratives and the well-being of society as a whole.
Our main activities will include information exchange for research and development and business creation related to longevity, collaborative research and social implementation projects with industry, government, and academia both domestically and internationally, information dissemination, public awareness campaigns, policy recommendations, and regular events and subcommittee activities.
