ROHTO Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture, President: Hidetoshi Segi) is pleased to announce that it has entered into a strategic partnership with the Hong Kong government's Office for Attracting Strategic Enterprises (OASES) and signed an agreement to become a strategic corporate partner. This partnership with the Hong Kong government is the first of its kind for a Japanese company, and it was reached in recognition of our expertise and business track record in the healthcare and medical fields, as well as our efforts toward medium- to long-term value creation in the Asian region, including Hong Kong. Taking this partnership as an opportunity, we will position Hong Kong as one of our future strategic business and co-creation bases, and will contribute to the health and well-being of people in the Asian region, including Hong Kong, while deepening our collaboration with local partners and communities.

The Hong Kong Government's OASES Strategic Enterprise Partner program is designed to develop Hong Kong as a hub for innovation, research and development, and business in Asia. It provides individualized support to selected companies for entering the Hong Kong market and expanding their operations. Since its launch in October 2022, over 140 companies have been certified.
Through the Rohto Group's business development, we have delivered beauty and health to people around the world, primarily through eye care and skincare products, while also conducting research and development, manufacturing, and commercialization rooted in each region. In Hong Kong, our subsidiary, Rohto Advanced Research Hong Kong Limited (ARHK), has been promoting Regenerative medicine businesses and working on clinical research, development, and approval in the fields of ophthalmology, dermatology, orthopedics, and medical devices. Moving forward, we will incorporate this specialized knowledge and technology into the healthcare and medical fields, and, starting from Hong Kong, work to create new value. We will develop businesses that address diverse health and longevity challenges around the world, including Asia, and spread our results globally.
About Rohto Advanced Research Hong Kong Limited (ARHK)
In 2019, we established a subsidiary, ARHK, in Hong Kong. Our mission is to co-create healthcare innovation by combining Hong Kong's scientific expertise with Rohto's science, specialization, and global aspirations. We also play a wide range of roles, including exploring partnerships with universities, hospitals, and companies, as well as joint development and commercialization opportunities, with an eye on Hong Kong, the Greater Bay Area of China, and beyond.
