The Rohto Award

The Rohto Award
Rohto initiated the Rohto Award in 1995 to encourage the development and advancement of ophthalmic research in Japan. An award and a supplementary prize are given every year to young ophthalmic researchers in Japanese universities and research laboratories who have made notable achievements in the field.

Age-related Dermatology Seminar and Rohto Prize
The company initiated the Rohto Prize in 2007 to widely encourage and aid basic or clinical research and study on age-related dermatology. Every year two competent researchers are awarded a certificate and research funding.


Yamada Science Foundation

Yamada Science Foundation
Founded in 1977 by Kiro Yamada, then President of Rohto, with the investment of ¥3 billion of his own funds. It has contributed to strengthening the field of natural science through various supports for research programs, international research exchange programs and academic/technological conventions.

Society for Women's Health Science Research

Society for Women's Health Science Research
Society for Women's Health Science Research was launched to respond to women's desire of staying physically and mentally healthy and beautiful forever. Researches and studies of causes influencing women's health are made from the viewpoints of various areas of specialization, aiming at systematization and diffusion of disease prevention and treatment. Having sympathy with Society's activities, Rohto provides aid jointly with the Society as a part of well-aging activities.

The Rohto Dermatology Research Fund
The company initiated the Rohto Dermatology Research Fund in 2008 to contribute to the progress and development of dermatology. Hoping to strongly support emerging research and young researchers and contribute to the progress of future dermatology, Rohto has been awarding research funding to three researchers every year.
