Supporting free ophthalmologic treatment in Asian countries
Rohto supports the activities ot ophthalmologist Dr. Tadashi Hattori who has been providing free ophthalmic treatment in Asian countries, centered or Vietnam, We are planning to offer intraocular lenses for cataract treatment, manufactured by PT. Rohto Laboratories Indonesia, through Rohto-Mentholatum (Vietnam) Co., Ltd.

Since 2002, started front-line eye treatment for torn retina and retinopathy of diabetes with endoscopy and professional training at National Institute of Ophthalmology in Vietnam. Receives no compensation at all in Asian counties and covers costs for transportation, accommodation and treatment by rewards given in Japan. In December 2014, received from the Vietnamese Government the Award of Friendship Medal, the highest-grade medal for non-Vietnamese.
Malaria No More Japan
According to UNESCO, 660 thousand people die from malaria each year globally.
With 90 percent ot victims, mostly among small children, having occurred
in poor countries in Africa, etc., malaria is one of three main causes
for death among children under five years. Because there are cases where
malaria, if in the beginning of infection, can be cured by therapeutic
drugs. Malaria No More, an international organization aiming at eradication
of Malaria, seeks support widely from individuals and corporations in order
to purchase and deliver a test kit and antimalarial medication for 100
yen for a person. Rohto, having entered markets in Africa, has been giving
positive support to this activity.
