Rohto Children's Dreams Fund has selected nine organizations for its third round of grants,
supporting activities that address social issues surrounding children and encourage "children's dreams."
April 1, 2026
ROHTO Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (President: Hidetoshi Segi, Headquarters: Osaka City) and the specified non-profit organization Peace Winds Japan (Representative Director: Kensuke Onishi, Headquarters: Jinsekikogen Town, Hiroshima Prefecture) have conducted the third call for applications for grants under the "Rohto Children's Dream Fund" program, targeting organizations working to solve and improve social issues surrounding children. Poverty, educational inequality, abuse, bullying, isolation—social issues surrounding children are becoming more diverse and serious. To ensure that the environmental factors in which children find themselves do not limit their dreams or future options, we will implement a grant program for organizations working to resolve and improve social issues surrounding children.
In the call for applications for grants, we established two application categories with different grant amounts and solicited applications from all over the country.
In reviewing grant recipients, we emphasized the following criteria: ① projects that support children in pursuing their dreams, ② analysis of current challenges, ③ feasibility and sustainability of goals, ④ the unique appeal of the project, and ⑤ appropriateness of the budget design.
Through this grant program, we aim to eliminate all forms of inequality among children and support a future where they can continue to pursue their dreams.
Comments from the Rohto Children's Dream Fund Selection Committee (in alphabetical order)
-
Aya Abe (Professor, Department of Human and Social Sciences, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Tokyo Metropolitan University / Director, Center for Research on Child and Youth Poverty)
As a member of the selection committee for the "Rohto Children's Dreams Fund," I had the opportunity to see the results of many people's thoughts on what they could do to help children fulfill their dreams. In Japan, there are many children who face various difficulties such as poverty, disability, and illness. I hope that the heartfelt wishes of the people embodied in the "Rohto Children's Dreams Fund" will reach these children.

Daigo Sato (Professor, Faculty of Entrepreneurship, Musashino University)
We received applications from many organizations again this year, and we were deeply impressed by the passion of those who are seriously committed to the future of children.
On the other hand, I was reminded once again of the difficulty of having to make choices within limited resources.
All of the organizations selected this time are undertaking initiatives that combine practical application and sustainability to expand the potential of children.
We hope that through this fund, these individual endeavors will expand further, bringing opportunities and hope to even more children. We will continue to support them.

Miki Takei (Chief Communications Officer, ROHTO Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.)
This was my first time participating as an evaluation committee member. Thank you again for all the applications.
I was deeply moved on many occasions by the sincere efforts of the various organizations to address the future and potential of each and every child.
Through our efforts to broaden the dreams and options of children from diverse backgrounds, I have come to realize once again how important this is.
We hope this fund will be a force that supports children's futures and spreads hope.

Chie Hirao (Director, Fundrex Co., Ltd.)
This fund, born from the desire to support children in pursuing their dreams, is now in its third year. We are encouraged each time we make a selection by seeing the adults who face the difficulties surrounding children with ingenuity and passion.
One of the key features of this fund is its flexible use of funds, including indirect costs. In the selection process, we reaffirmed the need for such an easy-to-use framework for each organization to carry out its activities, while also emphasizing whether the funds would be used to create a sustainable and ripple effect.
We sincerely hope that your activities will become even stronger through this grant, and that it will lead to a society where children can freely envision their future.

Rie Mishima (Chairperson, Musubie, National Children's Cafeteria Support Center, a certified NPO)
The numerous applications allowed us to witness initiatives that genuinely address the future of children, and we express our deepest respect for their daily activities. In each project, we could sense a commitment to understanding local circumstances, carefully supporting each child individually, and expanding their potential, which greatly encouraged me. In the selection process, the committee members carefully discussed not only the feasibility and sustainability of the projects and their potential for social impact, but also whether they would be burdensome for the organizations involved, considering their organizational structure. We sincerely hope that each initiative will reach the children and become a source of hope for the future.
