September 24, 2024
Recently, some posts on social media have expressed concerns about our sunscreen products.
The dyes used in our products are legally approved dyes as defined by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare. Research by the IARC (International Agency for Research on Cancer) has not confirmed the carcinogenicity of Blue No. 1, and furthermore, we conduct safety evaluations during the product development process before commercializing the product. Therefore, we believe that the potential impact on the skin is extremely low and that you can use our products with confidence.
Safety
- Research by the IARC (International Agency for Research on Cancer) has not confirmed the carcinogenicity of Blue No. 1.
- The legally approved dyes we use are certified by specific organizations worldwide. They are approved by the FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration) and are listed in the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare regulations as being usable in pharmaceuticals, etc.
- During the product development process, the product undergoes safety testing before being released to the market.
- Blue No. 1 is an ingredient that can be used in food. The Joint FAO/WHO Expert Committee on Food Additives (JECFA) and the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) have reported an acceptable daily intake (ADI) of Blue No. 1 at 6 mg per kg of body weight. Even if the amount contained in sunscreen products were to enter the body, we believe it would not have any adverse effects.
We kindly ask for your continued patronage of our products.
