Could you tell me about your daily work?

I am in charge of developing hair care products. In the hair care field, Rohto is still a challenger, but we are leveraging the knowledge we have cultivated in skincare and pursuing a science-based approach. Market research shows that hair care products are still often chosen based on appearance and image. Therefore, Rohto aims to create an environment where people can make more rational choices that suit their individual scalp and hair condition by providing hair care based on scientific evidence rather than subjective choices.

What moments at work truly move you?

When customers tell me that they have high expectations for a product I helped plan because it's from Rohto, and that it exceeded their expectations, that's when my heart is most moved. When I feel that the customer's heart has been moved, I feel that my heart is moved too. In particular, when I receive joyful comments like, "Nothing else worked before, but this solved my problem!" or "I can now enjoy wearing my hair down," I feel like I'm sharing the joy with the customer.

What kind of heartfelt message do you want to convey to your customers?

I feel that there isn't as much information available about hair care as there is about skincare. When we talk about skin concerns, we can list many things like blemishes, wrinkles, sagging, and pores, but there aren't nearly as many words to describe hair concerns. However, I believe that having healthy hair greatly impacts well-being. By sharing information about hair health with evidence, I want to deliver the joy to my customers of solving hair problems they had given up on or thought were incurable!

At Rohto, our top priority in developing hair care products is creating effective products. For example, if we discover that a product is more effective for people with fine hair but less effective for those with coarse hair, we can then improve the formula to satisfy people with all hair types. This is possible because we design our formulas based on the mechanism of why they work. We believe that by continuing this process, we can move closer to a world where people can enjoy the hairstyles they want without being constrained by hair problems.
