~Introductory lessons to teach eye care habits in a fun way~
June 10, 2026
ROHTO Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture; President: Hidetoshi Segi) will collaborate with Iga City, Mie Prefecture, where the Rohto Group's main factory is located, to conduct a pilot educational program aimed at preventing myopia in children as a joint project based on a comprehensive partnership agreement.
In recent years, declining eyesight among children has become a serious and pressing health issue. To protect the healthy growth and future of children, we will be holding an outreach program for some second-grade elementary school students in the city, where they can learn about eye care habits in a fun way using the easy-to-understand keyword "Sa-Ga-So" (meaning "look closely"). Through this program, we aim to encourage children to be mindful of their eye health in their daily lives and to think about actions that can help prevent the progression of myopia.

Rohto Pharmaceutical's initiatives regarding children's eye health
Childhood myopia is becoming more common at younger ages, making it crucial to be mindful of eye health from an early age. Rohto Pharmaceutical has been working with local governments and educational institutions to raise awareness about childhood myopia. As part of these efforts, we launched the "Mirumirunobiru" project on June 2, 2026, with the aim of fostering healthy vision and future potential in children.
