12 indicators that build a foundation for health
We have systematically established 12 health indicators, consisting of 8 indicators that lead to improved physical wellness and 4 indicators that support a vibrant state of mind from within.
- *1: Anemia is defined as a hemoglobin level of less than 12.0 g/dl
- *2: Fitness age < actual age is defined as two or more items of physical fitness test results (physical fitness age, walking age, and brain fitness®) being younger than actual age.
- *3: A single serving is defined as less than 2 go for men and less than 1 go for women.
- *4: Percentage of people who answered "very satisfied" or "somewhat satisfied" on a four-point scale (in fiscal 2022, a five-point scale will be used, including "neither satisfied nor satisfied")
- *5: Results from April to March of the relevant fiscal year
- *6: Average during the walking event "Toko Chale" 2022 Winter (3 weeks)
- *7: Average number of participants during the period of the exercise and communication promotion event "New Well Challenge" 2023 summer walking event (25 events total 726 participants)
- *8: Average during the three-week walking and sleep improvement event "Toko Challenge 2024 Sleep +"
- *9: An internal messaging tool that allows employees to express their gratitude to each other
Rohto Health White Paper
At Rohto, we consider the well-being of "individuals" to be the source of our growth, and we are promoting health and productivity management with the aim of making "working at Rohto Pharmaceutical a way to improve your health." The "Rohto Health White Paper" has been published since 2025 with the aim of providing easy-to-understand information about health and productivity management initiatives and results, various health-related data, and future challenges to everyone inside and outside the company, and to help promote health.
Through this white paper, we aim to improve the health awareness of each and every employee, and to realize and enhance well-being together with everyone inside and outside the company.
External Evaluation
In March 2026, we received our ninth certification in six consecutive years as a "Certified Health & Productivity Management Outstanding Organization (White 500)," a designation jointly selected by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and the Japan Health Council.
Furthermore, in January 2026, the company was certified as a "Sports Yell Company 2026" by the Japan Sports Agency. Having received certification more than nine times since 2018, it earned the "Silver" certification, and an additional "Plus" certification due to its employee participation rate of over 70% in sports at least once a week.
In August 2024, the menu offered at our head office cafeteria (meals provided by Shidax Contract Food Service Co., Ltd.) received the highest rank of three stars (criteria: substantial) in the "Healthy Eating and Food Environment (commonly known as Smart Meal)" certification program organized by the Healthy Eating and Food Environment Consortium.
