Community Involvement

Through our group company, Yaeyama Farm Co., Ltd., an agricultural production corporation, we have been working in Ishigaki City, Okinawa Prefecture, not only on livestock and agricultural products but also on processing and sales, promoting environmentally friendly, circular agriculture and the development of a sixth-sector industry. We have also provided our produce and processed products as gifts in return for Ishigaki City's hometown tax donations. We have also donated ping-pong tables to Ishigaki City and hosted the Ishigaki Mayor's Cup Table Tennis Tournament, allowing children to exercise despite the island's unpredictable weather. In February 2023, Ishigaki City, our company, Yaeyama Farm Co., Ltd. signed a "Comprehensive Partnership Agreement for the Realization of Sustainable Community Development." We will address issues such as nutrition education for children who will be responsible for Ishigaki City's future and promoting the health of Ishigaki residents, as well as contribute to Ishigaki City's goal of becoming a "SDGs Future City," initiatives based on the city's comprehensive regional strategy, and sustainable community development.

We will promote sustainable urban development by working together on issues such as improving health and welfare, addressing the declining birthrate and aging population, pregnancy support, child-rearing support, environmental conservation, and industrial development utilizing local resources. By disseminating information and holding seminars on pregnancy and child-rearing support, we will contribute to the health of the local community of Konosu City and the children who will lead the next generation, as well as to regional revitalization aimed at realizing sustainable community development. In 2022, we held a pregnancy seminar for residents and a life design seminar for city employees to learn about health issues and preconception care for working women.

In 2014, we launched the "Mie Hometown Revitalization Project," a collaborative project between industry, academia, and government with the aim of revitalizing the local area. The resulting "VISON (Taki Town, Mie Prefecture)" opened as a commercial resort facility combining diversity and expertise to revitalize the local economy. Furthermore, in June 2021, we opened the "Honshoyu" hot spring bath facility. Based on the results of joint research with Mie University, we developed the recipe for the Honshoyu bath. We also have a medicinal herb garden and research laboratory, where we offer a variety of seasonal herbal baths. Through regional revitalization, we are working to create a society where everyone can live a healthy life, both physically and mentally.

Kuradashi Co., Ltd., which runs the "Kuradashi Challenge" social contribution internship program in Ishigaki City, Okinawa, where interns are dispatched to local farmers struggling with labor shortages, and our company, whose subsidiary is Yaeyama Farm Co., Ltd., the only organic NAPPLE grower in Japan, have concluded a "Partnership Agreement for reducing food waste and promoting local specialties in Ishigaki City in relation to the promotion of SDGs." By collaborating, the three parties will make the most of their respective resources to address local issues, continue to work on creating a connected population in the region and developing local industries, and build a system that will allow Ishigaki Island's food to reach more people.

In September 2021, the "Health Promotion Monitor Tour," jointly planned by the Izumisano City Promotion Council (a general incorporated association working to develop tourism in Izumisano City, Osaka Prefecture), Osaka University of Health and Sport Sciences (the first university of physical education in the Kansai region), and our company, was selected by the Japan Tourism Agency for its "Demonstration Project for Promoting Regional Collaboration through Refining Regional Tourism Resources." Through our subsidiary, Rinku Medical Management Co., Ltd., we have established a health promotion information center called the "Wellbina Station" near Kansai International Airport (Izumisano City), where we provide health measurements using specialized equipment and hold events to support individual health promotion. Through the "Monitor Tour," we aim to leverage the knowledge and expertise of industry, academia, and government to brand Izumisano, previously a transit city, as a "city rich in health-related resources." We aim to create "visit value" and "purpose" for tourists to visit Izumisano and promote health promotion.
