ROHTO Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. was established in 1899 with the aim of solving the social issue of "saving the increasing number of patients with gastropathy due to changes in dietary habits." Since then, the Company has grown with its core business of manufacturing and selling gastrointestinal medicines, eye drops, and skin care products. Although the external environment surrounding the Company has changed significantly, "health" continues to be the Company's unwavering core value. In 2019, the Company established the "ROHTO Group Comprehensive Management Vision 2030 -Connect for Well-being-" based on the belief that the Company's raison d'être is to deliver "health" to everyone and lead people and society to "Well-being" while always facing changes in society and our customers and taking on challenges. In order to continue to deliver "Well-being" to everyone, it is important for us to conduct sustainable organizational management and achieve sustainable growth. On top of that, we would like to create a bright future by sharing our wisdom with our colleagues and partners who are connected through our business activities.

As indicated in our corporate identity "NEVER SAY NEVER," one of the corporate cultures rooted in our company is to continue to take on challenges beyond the framework of the conventional way of thinking. In order to realize a society in which each person can feel healthy not only physically but also mentally and socially, the Rohto Group places great importance on developing human resources who will continue to take on challenges in a positive manner. We believe that "people" are the most important assets for both growing our organization and leading the world to a more prosperous society. Our concept of human resource development is to nurture human resources that are "useful to society." In order to solve the wide range of issues facing modern society and to respond to the changes of the times, we will develop human resources who can play an active role both inside and outside the company, so that we can deepen our connection with society as a whole, expand our knowledge, and continue to exist as a company that is useful for the well-being of each individual and the entire world.

Conservation of the global environment is one of the first issues that we must address in considering the society we aspire to create. To date, we have been taking initiatives to reduce our environmental impact by reducing the use of plastic and other resources, switching to environmentally friendly raw materials, reducing waste, and reducing energy consumption by taking, for example, the initiative in refilling cosmetics with pouches. In fiscal 2021, we established the Sustainability Committee as an advisory body to the Board of Directors to address not only environmental issues but also human rights and employment issues, and to develop a management system for sound corporate management with an emphasis on transparency. In May 2023, we identified key items to be addressed in order to realize our ideal vision for us, our society, and the global environment. By setting "Sustainability Targets 2030" initiative as our target, we are promoting group-wide efforts to achieve them.

The ROHTO Group will continue to fulfill its corporate social responsibilities, build a foundation for sustainable growth through dialogue with stakeholders and information disclosure, and pursue the well-being of people around the world, local communities, and the global environment.
